Put a True Advocate on Your Side

Doug Weathers

After graduating from the University of Alabama School of Law in Tuscaloosa, Alabama I was admitted to the Alabama Bar in May 1989. My legal experience has spanned several disciplines including criminal law, family law, estate litigation, intellectual property, and as a general practitioner. However, since graduating from law school, I have practiced primarily in Criminal Law as an Assistant District Attorney for six years and as a defense attorney since that time. I have tried in excess of 100 felony jury trials and many misdemeanors and juvenile trials. Serving as a prosecutor I worked tirelessly to protect victims of crime and punish the offender. I have received advanced training as a prosecutor at Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago, Illinois, and at the National Advocacy Center, Columbia, South Carolina.

"When you hire me, you get me. I strive to provide personal attention and passionate guidance from start to finish."

Following my service as a prosecutor, I went into private practice and devoted myself to the effective representation of citizens accused of criminal offenses and general practice. I have taught at the college level classes in Criminal Law and Procedure, Evidence and Civil Procedure. I was also the supervising trial attorney for a large Fort Worth criminal defense firm. My duties included supervising five attorneys and managing the firm's trials in all felony and misdemeanor courts in Tarrant, Dallas, Johnson, Parker, Denton, and Wise Counties. In 2007, I opened my office in Keller, Texas for the representation of citizens accused of criminal offenses. I am committed to providing superior professional legal representation to clients in need of legal services and to treat the client with respect and professional courtesy.

I currently limit my practice solely to criminal defense matters.
